Norwood Airport Commission approves FAA-reimbursed fence payments and renews 13 commercial permits

The Norwood Airport Commission on May 27, 2026 approved a series of financial and administrative items, including three payment requests tied to the wildlife-fence project and the renewal of 13 commercial permits for the 2027 fiscal year.
Staff presented payment request number four for the wildlife fence (AIP3-25-0037-051-2025). The item is 95% FAA-reimbursable with a 5% town share; the town-share amount read in the meeting was $234,142.50. A motion to approve was made, seconded, and the commission approved the payment by recorded vote, 3-0 (Chair: yes; Committee member Patrick: yes; Committee member John: yes).
Staff then presented payment request number five for the same AIP project; the town-share amount read in the meeting was $40,496.33. That payment was moved, seconded and approved by the commission, 3-0.
Payment request number six (same project) was presented with a town-share amount read as $229,896.99; the commission approved that payment by recorded vote, 3-0.
The commission also voted in mass to approve 13 commercial-permit renewal applications for the 2027 fiscal year. The permits and companies approved in mass were listed by staff as Flight Level; Bluehill Helicopters; Boston Executive Helicopters; Horizon Aviation; East Coast Aero Club; HB Holdings doing business as Norwood Air; Kestrel Aviation; Tuckore Aviation; New England AC Detailing; ATP of Massachusetts; Cape Air; AB/FL LLC; and Real Clean Cape Cod. The mass vote to renew these permits passed, 3-0.
Earlier in the meeting the clerk read the minutes from the March 3, 2026 regular business meeting; Committee member John moved to approve, Patrick seconded, and the commission approved the minutes by recorded vote.
