The City of Prospect Heights reminded vehicle owners and pet owners that city code requires a vehicle sticker for any motor vehicle registered to an address or PO box in the city or garageed or regularly parked in the city, and licenses for dogs and cats four months or older. The city said stickers and pet tags must be purchased before March 31 to avoid late fees.
The city said renewals for vehicle stickers and pet licenses can be completed online through the Express Bill Pay system, but stickers and licenses for newly acquired vehicles or pets must be purchased in person at City Hall or through the mail. The city advised allowing seven to ten business days for mailed items resulting from online purchases.
To help with compliance, the city said it will work with the Illinois Secretary of State to obtain a list of vehicles and motorcycles registered to addresses within Prospect Heights; the city will mail tickets to owners of vehicles found without the required stickers or tags. Payments in person are accepted at City Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; the city accepts cash, credit cards, and checks.
