The council approved warrant #252613 for $369,456.78 (payroll period ended Oct. 30; payroll $332,276.98) and warrant #252614 (total and payroll amounts read into the record). Council then approved a multi-item consent agenda that included: authorization to purchase a DJI M4TD drone using cannabis funds (not to exceed $13,500); authorization to purchase a 2026 Dodge Durango Pursuit AWD from Napleton Fleet Group ($41,324); a zoning-variation approval (PZC 2025-17) and multiple contract extensions for landscaping, stone procurement, ditch landscaping and topsoil purchases for public-works projects. The council also authorized engineering agreements for the 2026 street-maintenance program and approved a $17,942.44 flood-restoration contract for the city-hall lower floor.
Event and community approvals included a license and hold-harmless agreement with High School District 86 to host the annual Darien Fest (location set because Westwood Park will be under construction) and agreements to contract performers and staging for Darienfest. The council also approved venue and services contracts for the Dancing with the Darien Stars event and a $187,500 contract to Yellowstone Landscape for the city’s 2025–26 tree-trimming and removal program.
All consent-agenda items and the listed new-business contracts passed by roll call, with no items pulled for separate discussion at this meeting. The council adjourned after setting committee dates for goal setting and budget work.
