Edgewood planning panel amends prior findings to record water "will serve" for two lots

The Edgewood Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 18 approved an amendment to its Aug. 21 findings of fact and conclusion of law to record that a water "will serve" letter applies to both newly created lots after an applicant split a parcel.

Commissioner Jennifer Reeves asked whether the letter explicitly committed service to two meters for the two lots, saying the original letter “didn't specify that it was going to support two lots.” Interim Planning and Zoning Manager Rebecca Garcia confirmed staff shared the concern and recommended adding the clarification to protect the applicant. “Rebecca will get you a signed edited document,” a commissioner said during the discussion.

Commissioner Rush moved to approve the Aug. 21 findings as amended to show that the will-serve letter for water covers two lots; the motion was seconded and the commission approved the amendment (vote recorded as approved with three ayes and one abstention noted). The abstention was recorded for the member who said they had not participated in the original August item.

The amendment updates the formal finding to reflect that the previously stated condition has been met and ensures the record explicitly notes the water commitment for both lots. Staff said they will produce the revised, signed findings for the chair's signature.
