Council members discussed ways to improve how residents learn about newly adopted ordinances. One council member said most residents will not check the municipal website for new ordinances and recommended a short summary of recent council actions be included in each issue of the borough newsletter.
Staff responded that packet summaries are prepared for each ordinance and suggested the newsletter could include a sentence or two from those summaries to make residents aware of changes. The suggestion aimed to reduce the likelihood that residents could say they were unaware of ordinances affecting them.
No formal motion was recorded on the notification practice; the discussion closed with staff agreeing to consider newsletter summaries.
