The Town of Shenango on Jan. 7 approved a set of pay applications and accepted three change orders for components of the wastewater treatment plant project that carry no added fee but extend completion dates to align with the prime contractor’s previously granted extension.
Town staff explained the change orders are timing adjustments for electrical, mechanical and plumbing subcontract work so their schedules coincide with Kubriki’s (prime contractor) extension; contractors said the work will be completed within the new combined timeline with no additional fee. Town staff said they were obtaining written confirmation from the Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) and DEC that the schedule changes are acceptable under grant/loan terms.
The board approved individual pay applications and then approved three change orders (C1B03, C1C03, C1D03) by roll call. Members emphasized that invoices tied to reimbursement draws will not be released until EFC disbursements are received and that pay apps are being approved subject to available draw funds.
The board also discussed internal coordination and legal follow‑up about outstanding letters and contractor extension requests, and asked staff to consolidate correspondence and get written confirmations from funders.
