Centerville Board honors dozens of retiring educators and staff

The Centerville City Board of Education used its May 26 meeting to recognize dozens of retiring district employees, presenting each with brief biographical remarks and a token of appreciation.
Mr. Tarpy and others called retirees to the podium and read highlights of their careers, citing years of service and memorable contributions. Among those honored were Alan Bear (32 years, Centerville High School math teacher and head wrestling coach), Mark Dom (35½ years, assistant business manager and facilities lead), and Kelly Henry (38 years, special education coordinator), as well as paraprofessionals, bus drivers, kitchen managers and classroom teachers across the district.
Several retirees offered short remarks; many presenters and board members praised their long service and impact on students. The board invited attendees to applaud and noted the retirements as part of the district’s year-end celebrations.
The recognition portion was part of the honors and building reports and did not include formal board action beyond the public commendations.
