Lower Pottsgrove parks board confirms Community Day plans, unveils 2026 concert dates

Lower Pottsgrove Township Parks and Recreation staff reported on multiple upcoming community events during the Aug. 25 meeting, saying Community Day currently lists 36 vendors and will feature family attractions such as a petting zoo, a balloon artist, a face painter and a bounce house. Administrative Assistant Samantha Cronrath said two food vendors dropped out but Mr. Sticky’s and Mike’s Brick Oven remain committed and the sheriff’s office may bring a K‑9 unit.
Cronrath outlined a draft vendor map and said she will hold a final preparatory meeting and mark booth locations in the days before the event. Board member Thomas C. Troutman suggested adding feature events (for example, a kickoff or contests) in future years; Cronrath said she would poll the township Facebook page to gauge interest.
The board also reviewed the 2025 concert season and preliminarily approved 2026 dates: June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, July 26 and Aug. 2. Cronrath named several tentative acts, including Bill Koss Combo as the opener, Flamin' Dicks on July 5 and the Community Band on Aug. 2, and said she is considering either adding an extra weekend to finish with an Adventure Grove fundraiser or asking a returning act not to return to keep the current schedule.
Cronrath said the new double‑sided Ringing Rocks Park sign was installed Aug. 25 and placed higher to improve visibility over guardrails. She also reported that township and Representative Ciresi’s office are coordinating an “Empower Your Park” cleanup at Ringing Rocks and that school environmental clubs are being invited to volunteer.
The board discussed marketing details; Troutman and Thomas Orlando supported adding brief band descriptions to concert flyers so attendees know the music style in advance. Cronrath said she will coordinate with the manager about fundraising timing and vendor logistics.
The meeting adjourned at 7 p.m.; the next Parks and Recreation Board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 22, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
