The Hawaiian Gardens City Public Housing Authority on May 27 reappointed Veronica Hernandez and Patricia Jones to two-year terms extending through January 2028, voting unanimously during its meeting that began at 5:45 p.m.
A staff member introduced the item, stating, “This item is to reappoint directors Veronica Hernandez and Patricia Jones to the public housing authority.” A director moved to approve the reappointments; the motion was seconded and carried following a roll-call vote recorded by city clerk Paulo. The clerk noted for the record that individual members do not vote on their own reappointment and that recorded votes applied to the other director.
The authority also approved the meeting agenda and the consent calendar by roll-call votes without any director pulling items for separate discussion. The city clerk explained public-comment procedures at the start of the meeting and opened public comment, but no members of the public joined on Zoom or spoke in person.
The meeting lasted about 10 minutes; no new business or oral staff reports were presented. The chair adjourned the meeting at 5:55 p.m. and announced the next public housing authority meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24 at 5:45 p.m.
