Trustees authorized the town to award a contract to Grand River Construction for a pedestrian crossing project on Highway 133 W Boulevard after staff reported receiving two bids.
Kevin, who presented the project and the packet materials to the board, said the town received two bids “260,000 and change, 342 and some change” and recommended awarding the contract to Grand River Construction. Trustees discussed the design alignment with existing paths and the decision to avoid a full highway closure to reduce traffic‑control costs.
Trustee Jess moved to approve the contract and authorize the mayor to sign the agreement; Trustee Chris seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Staff said the intention is to schedule construction between school getting out and school starting to limit conflicts with the school year; road will narrow through the work zone but will not require a full closure. Trustees praised the project planning and recommended continuing coordination with staff on timing and traffic control.
