FLVS board workshop sets FY 2026–27 meeting dates, election timing and bylaws waiver option

Dr. Algay closed the agenda preview by outlining organizational items the board will consider on June 2, including establishing board meeting dates for fiscal year 2026–27 and electing a board chair and co‑chair whose terms would begin July 1, 2026.
He said the recommended meeting dates will be selected based on majority availability and included agenda review workshops and regular quarterly meetings. On officer elections, Dr. Algay said board bylaws require election of a chair and co‑chair by majority vote in a public meeting and permit consideration of a waiver to bylaw 2.7(4) if the board re‑elects a member who has served two consecutive terms for the office.
Board members offered brief closing comments thanking staff for preparation. A motion to adjourn was then moved, seconded and announced as carried; the chair indicated the board would reconvene shortly for a special meeting that morning.
