Coaches Miss Man and Mr. Hollerman described Daffhany’s multi-year commitment to the speech team, noting this was her fourth year on the team and her second time reaching the state final, where she finished third. Assistant coaches who could not attend were acknowledged; coaches said Daffhany served as a team captain and helped grow the program.
Daffhany told the board the speech program had been “monumental” for her personal growth and credited her coaches for helping her reach the state stage. Board members offered congratulations, encouraged her to continue with speech and debate in college, and invited the student and family for photos.
The board’s recognition emphasized the district’s investment in arts and activities that support public speaking and leadership development.
