The Mount Olive Township Council voted on Dec. 23 to adopt Ordinance 29-2025 on second reading, revising Ordinance 23-2024 to grant consent and permission to New Jersey American Water Company, Inc. to provide potable water services in the township.
The council opened a public hearing on the ordinance and, with no members of the public speaking, moved for adoption and final passage. Council member Mrs. Lama moved for adoption and a second was recorded. A roll call vote followed with the council members present recorded as voting yes; the ordinance passed on second reading.
The presiding officer directed the clerk to forward a copy of the adopted ordinance to the mayor and to publish the notice of adoption as required by law.
The ordinance amends local authorization previously set by Ordinance 23-2024 to formalize consent for New Jersey American Water to furnish potable water in Mount Olive. The meeting record contains the public hearing, the motion to adopt and the roll call recorded by the clerk.
