At its meeting the West Noble School Corporation board approved multiple routine and action items in a series of votes.
Minutes and consent items: The board accepted minutes from the May 12 meeting and approved the consent agenda, which included operations and education fund cash-flow documents and fund-activity reports as of April 30. Joe Sagers moved to accept the minutes; the motion carried. Barry moved the consent agenda, with Jeremy seconding; the motion carried.
Personnel and hires: The personnel agenda — including three late additions that were placed on the personnel list — was approved. Newly hired staff introduced at the meeting included head and assistant cheer coaches Nelly and Heather, district staff member TJ Lingwer (to assist with Skyward migration and state financial reporting) and Jennifer Duncan, introduced as the new principal of West Noble Elementary.
Curriculum adoption: The board approved adoption of new curriculum materials for ELA, Spanish and EL supports: high-school literature adoption of HMH materials, McGraw Hill StudySync for grades 6–8, updated Spanish materials, and Vista Higher Learning for EL supports. The motion to adopt the materials carried.
Timber-harvest contract: The board reviewed two bids to harvest about 90 trees (including white oak and black walnut) and awarded the contract to Crisis Timber Co-Op with Yoder Incorporated based on the higher bid and perceived value; the motion carried.
Other governance items: The board also approved two trial board work-session dates (August 24 and November 23) to hold extended discussions before a regular meeting. Routine motions and approvals were recorded as "motion carried" in the public minutes; the meeting included introductions of hired staff and brief community updates.
