Valley Economic Alliance unveils three-year 'Valley Vision' strategic plan and reports service metrics

Armita Commonari Stafford, chair of the Valley Economic Alliance, opened the group's 31st annual meeting in San Fernando and introduced the Alliance's 2026'028 strategic plan, called Valley Vision. "This thoughtful roadmap for strategic regional development was formulated over a one-year process led by strategic planning committee chair Fred Gaines," Stafford said, adding that attendees could pick up a copy at the front desk.
The Alliance used the meeting to summarize its work over the past year. Stafford reported that the organization served more than 2,700 registered participants, with about 60% described as low- to moderate-income families and businesses; she said 86% of clients have five or fewer employees and 91% reported under $1 million in annual revenues. The Alliance also highlighted program efforts that followed regional wildfires, including disaster-relief information sessions and a small-business recovery toolkit offering financial guidance and technical support.
A video presentation at the meeting recapped the Alliance's 30 years of service and underscored collaborative initiatives to support business retention and recovery. The video and speakers emphasized the Business and Community Resource Center (BCRC) and the Accelerate program as channels the Alliance uses to connect entrepreneurs with funding and procurement opportunities. "We are committed to be here to help you rebuild, to help you clean up, to help you be able to go back to the lives that you've had before," the video stated.
The Alliance framed the strategic plan as a three-year, stakeholder-informed roadmap intended to guide regional economic development, workforce initiatives, and livable-community programs. Stakeholders and board members were urged to hold the Alliance accountable for the plan's implementation over the next three years.
The meeting closed with the chair noting that the Alliance's success rests on partnerships with the five member cities and a broad network of volunteers and sponsors.
