Council members asked about the need for an F-350 versus the existing F-150 and were told the F-150 had been a hand-me-down from parks and recreation and was underpowered for public works tasks. After brief discussion, a council member moved to approve the purchases; the motion was seconded and the council recorded unanimous "yes" votes from Vice Mayor Butland, Council member Papalardo, Council member Cell, Council member Stevenson and Mayor Shaz.
The purchases will proceed through the city procurement process, and staff expects vehicles to be delivered in roughly six months. The council did not specify vehicle assignment beyond the departments named at the meeting.
