Bethlehem IDA renews executive director contract, appoints governance and marketing chairs

The Town of Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency on Nov. 26 authorized its executive director to sign the contract for executive‑director services and the retainer agreement for agency counsel, and the board appointed committee chairs.
Executive Director Katherine Hedgman explained the payments for the contracts were approved in the budget and that the documents are similar to prior years aside from a modest increase to cover added duties including legislation, records retention and web management. The board moved to authorize Hedgman to sign the documents and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also moved to appoint Victor Franco as chair of the governance committee and Chris Welsh as chair of the marketing committee; both motions passed unanimously. Hedgman noted the IDA will hold regular committee meetings (governance, marketing and audit) to review policies, the budget and the upcoming audit schedule.
In other personnel business, Hedgman announced longtime board member David Cadera has retired and the Town Board has appointed an individual identified in the transcript as "Yen H" to fill the vacancy. Hedgman said she would prepare a letter thanking Cadera for his service.
