A finance presenter told the Beauregard Parish School Board finance committee on April 13 that the parish fiscal audit is complete and that the audit reflects "strong internal controls and a high level of compliance" across major operational areas.
The presenter said the audit identified only two minor exceptions related to documentation and timing, and that there were no risk-area findings in cash handling, disbursements, payroll accuracy, contract compliance or fraud reporting. "Overall... the results reflect strong internal controls and a high level of compliance across the district," the presenter said, and added that Langley and Williams will present a more detailed review next month, including income statements and recommendations.
Separately, staff reported that the annual financial report (AFR) earned an "excellent" rating and was submitted before the Oct. 31, 2025 deadline. The presenter also noted an ongoing decline in monthly sales tax collections for the categories labeled sales tax 66 and 90; specific collection amounts were not provided in the meeting.
Staff announced that electronic onboarding is launching and an updated personnel tab on the parish website will go live the next day so employees can access current job listings. "Tomorrow, I am happy to announce that we are going live with the electronic onboarding," a staff member said.
Committee members had no questions on the financial statements as presented during the meeting. The committee did not record additional financial details in the transcript; staff indicated a fuller audit presentation will be provided at the next meeting.
Next steps: Langley and Williams will present the detailed audit at the next committee meeting; staff will publish onboarding access on the parish website.
