County Administrator Ron Barther summarized administration operations, personnel activity and finance procedures. He said the county issued 5,267 checks in 2025 totaling just over $20 million and processed ACH transfers of about $3 million, and that payroll and benefits are handled centrally.
Barther reviewed staffing metrics (33 full‑time new hires, 12 part‑time new hires, 11 promotions, 21 resignations, three retirements) and work‑comp claims (20 claims during the period with no lost‑time claims in the reporting window). He described monthly department‑head meetings and a budget‑team process intended to give staff and supervisors better cross‑departmental visibility into revenues and expenses.
The administrator presented a voluntary county board advisor (mentor) program coordinated by Gary Sorenson; the program is optional for both advisors and participants. Later in the meeting the board moved and voice‑voted to place the 2025 annual reports on file; the motion carried and the meeting adjourned.
