“Our mission is to enhance and enrich educational opportunities for Milford students and teachers,” Wilson said, describing two pillars of the foundation’s work: teacher grants and scholarships. She told trustees the foundation has distributed roughly $415,200 in teacher grants during its history and supports scholarships for graduates pursuing colleges, trade programs and certification paths.
Wilson highlighted specific projects the foundation helped fund, including robotics programming, a student telemetry project in the science department and a playground grant. She promoted the foundation’s annual fundraiser, Night of the Stars, as the primary revenue source and encouraged board members and community members to view grant and nomination forms at milfordschoolsfoundation.org.
Board members praised the foundation’s volunteer base and described award ceremonies and scholarship handouts as meaningful moments for students and families. The board did not take any formal action on the presentation; trustees thanked Wilson and moved on to other agenda items.
