Board approves $5,000 supplement to Bowman's contract for Route 30 predictive safety analysis

Colleen introduced an update on the Route 30 corridor alternatives study and said PennDOT requested a predictive safety analysis as part of its review. Randy Waltermire, project manager with Bowman, told the board that completing the requested predictive safety analysis and addressing additional PennDOT comments would cost $8,500; Bowman identified $3,500 of internal savings and asked the board to approve a $5,000 contract supplement.
Randy said the predictive safety analysis will support grant eligibility and strengthen the township's case for future safety funding if an alternative is advanced. He estimated the team could present results to PennDOT and return to the board with a recommendation by the May meeting.
The board moved, seconded and approved the $5,000 supplement by voice vote. Staff said the supplement will be paid from existing program lines for sidewalk and corridor planning and that Bowman will proceed to complete the analysis and coordination with PennDOT.
