Office of Business Services staff updated the board on several capital projects at the May 26 meeting. Staff said track resurfacing is scheduled to begin around June 11 and could run through July 11 depending on curing times; the final phase of a technical building HVAC project is expected to finish by Aug. 10; high-school boiler replacements are planned to be completed before the next school year; and a brief cafeteria floor and wall repair at the high school is slated to start around June 5.
Staff noted they will coordinate public notices with city parks and recreation and post off-limits times while work is underway. The board thanked staff for advancing these projects and noted the improvements will benefit students and community users.
During board member comments the board offered extended thanks and tributes to Dr. Cox, who said he is moving to Iowa to care for family and will step away from his role in the division. Members and students praised Dr. Cox's long service to the district and expressed personal gratitude; the meeting closed after those remarks and an adjournment.
