Frank and Amy Spanilo won board approval to alter their corner home at 1604 Logan Road, seeking a shed dormer, second-floor addition and a front-porch cover that required variances for lot size, lot width and front-yard setback.
The applicants, sworn and identified for the record, presented architectural plans and the board entered exhibits including the variance application, survey and plans. A board planner and engineer reviewed the file and said the proposed work would vertically extend an existing building portion within the front-yard setback but would not substantially worsen the existing condition. The board engineer noted the project adds a bedroom but that two parking spaces can be provided on site in the existing two-car garage.
After a brief public portion with no substantive objections, a motion for a positive resolution passed with affirmative votes from Mr. Ashkenazi, Mr. Chamora, Miss Litman and Mr. Caramatica.
The approvals were accompanied by standard conditions reflected in board practice and the board marked the application as a positive memorialization.
