The East Bridgewater School Committee on May 5 approved a consolidated evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Williams and adopted a two-year performance cycle that will establish a midcycle review in 2027 and a summative review in 2028.
Dr. Williams presented three district goals she intends to pursue over the two-year cycle: a professional-practice goal to create a superintendent advisory council made up of students in grades 7–12; a student-learning goal focused on belonging and engagement with regular student check-ins; and a district-improvement goal committing to strategic-plan accountability and regular public reporting. "So, those are my three goals," Dr. Williams said in presenting the plan.
At the meeting the evaluation subcommittee read element-level ratings from the state rubric, with repeated ratings marked "proficient" and several elements marked "exemplary," and reported an overall "proficient" rating for Dr. Williams's first year. The subcommittee flagged exemplary ratings in areas such as observations and feedback and some continuous-learning elements; other elements were called "proficient" in the compiled report.
Committee members praised the process and the superintendent's engagement with a broad set of stakeholders, noting that the evaluation compiled individual reviews and supporting evidence into a single, summarized report. The committee voted to accept the consolidated evaluation and to adopt the two-year goals cycle with a midcycle review scheduled for April 2027 and the summative review at the end of the two-year cycle in 2028.
The committee did not announce any changes to Dr. Williams's contract or compensation at the meeting. The superintendent thanked members for their time reviewing the evidence and said she appreciated the committee's feedback. The next formal step will be implementation of the agreed review timeline and posting the superintendent goals and supporting rubric materials to committee records.
