"Most of their expenses of course come to pay for library programs," Jason said, summarizing the Friends' allocations: about $18,000 to children's services, a little over $12,000 to adult programs, and roughly $7,000 for on-demand passes. Jason said the Friends voted in four new board members at their annual meeting and are preparing celebrations for the Friends' 70th year in June.
Board members were reminded of the Friends’ spring book sale, scheduled for Friday and Saturday with a special collectibles session Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The Friends are also expanding revenue streams by taking over the library’s copying and printing service after the previous vendor changed ownership.
The foundation report noted planning for a golf event and a Friday-night food hub with vendors, and reminded members that tickets are available on the foundation’s website.
