The American Fork City Council accepted, for the record, the withdrawal of an application for the Chipman State Center annexation at its May 26 meeting after staff said the original petition had lapsed.
Planning staff member Patrick told the council that enough time had elapsed since the original petition that the applicant needed to begin the process anew. Council member John moved to accept the withdrawal; the council approved the action with recorded affirmative votes.
Council members noted that prior work on property swaps and related negotiations would be preserved and that the applicant intends to reapply. Staff was directed to advise the applicant about next steps in the annexation process.
No substantive public hearing testimony was recorded on the item at this meeting; council acceptance of the withdrawal was procedural and does not itself grant or deny annexation rights.
