Board hears stadium and track progress, approves consent agenda, donation and math adoption; tables capital outlay threshold change

At the meeting, Mr. Relower updated the Eatonville School Board on the track, field and stadium project, saying lights are installed and the rubberized track surface is down. If weather cooperates, the district plans to complete sealing and striping by the end of the following week and expects the field to be available for summer training; the first scheduled football game is set for Sept. 4.
On routine business, the board moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda; members indicated approval by voice and the motion carried. The board also approved a $2,500 anonymous donation to support EMS students after a motion and voice vote, and it adopted a presented math curriculum (item presented on form 513), again by voice vote.
Separately, staff introduced a proposed update to Policy 6210 to raise the capital outlay approval threshold from $5,000 to $20,000 to align with the state accounting manual and reduce administrative burden. Board members questioned the proposed amount, discussed whether three informal quotes remain standard practice, and debated aligning with Policy 6801 (state guidance). The board decided to table the policy change for further research and return with additional information at a future meeting.
The board also considered three policies (numbered in the meeting as 35, 36 and 767) together, moved and seconded approval, and carried those motions by voice vote.
