On June 23 the Avon Park City Council approved selections from RFQ 25‑03 for engineering consulting services and authorized rehabilitation work on the city’s groundwater storage tanks.
Miss Kelly told the council eight firms responded to the RFQ covering industrial water, utilities construction specifications, inspection, stormwater and roadway design; the top three scoring firms were Kimley‑Horn, Pulson Engineering and Civil Serve Design Group. Council approved the top three and the staff recommendation to proceed with Pulson Engineering (listed in the packet as the top score).
On a related item staff presented bids to rehab and paint the city’s water storage tanks and recommended piggybacking the city of Sebring’s contract with Southern Corrosion. Staff summarized three proposals and explained a combined total of $92,274 after a $2,500 deduction if specified options are accepted. Council approved the work and the associated purchase order.
Both motions were approved by unanimous roll calls. Council asked staff to provide warranty information and coordinate decorative painting work with the CRA.
