DeKalb County government and I Am a Father 5K, Inc. will present the 12th annual 5K run/walk on Saturday, June 13, starting at 8 a.m. at Mesa Mill Park, 1406 McConnell Drive, host Aviva Hoffman said.
The race is billed as a family-stability event "to strengthen families one mile at a time," Hoffman said. The event will raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation, particularly within minority communities, and a portion of all race proceeds will benefit the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
Registration and additional event details were provided at iama f5k.org; Hoffman did not list participant limits, registration fees, or road-closure information in the announcement.
The county encouraged residents to register online to participate or to learn more about the organization's mission and organ donation resources.
