Lindenhurst approves amended Community Partners agreement; LLR Chamber withdraws from concert partnership

The Lindenhurst Village Board on Jan. 24 authorized the Village Administrator to execute an amended intergovernmental agreement among the Community Partners that organize the Summer Concerts in the Park series and the Fourth of July fireworks.
The Community Partners group includes the Village of Lake Villa, Lake Villa District Library, Lake Villa Township, the Lindenhurst Park District and the Village of Lindenhurst. The LLR Chamber of Commerce asked to withdraw from the partnership because of a change in its geographic territory; the amended agreement removes the chamber and brings the written agreement into alignment with current practice.
Trustee Dawn Suchy moved to authorize the Village Administrator to execute the amended intergovernmental agreement; Trustee Ron Grace seconded. The motion passed on a 6-0 roll-call vote of trustees present.
The amended agreement preserves the partners' shared programming and marketing of the Summer Concerts in the Park series and the annual fireworks display. The Village Administrator was authorized to sign the revised agreement and take steps required to continue the recreational programming coordinated by the partners.
