The Woodbridge Planning & Zoning Commission voted April 21 to approve a site‑plan for Air Handling Systems that allows a roughly 2,800‑square‑foot addition at the company's facility on 5 Lunar Drive.
John Paul Garcia, a licensed professional engineer representing owner Jamie Scott, described the addition as a storage and manufacturing space for sheet‑metal ductwork. Garcia said the applicant obtained a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals for a modest increase in ground‑coverage (from the town's 30% standard to approximately 33 1/3%), and that the variance has been recorded.
"We manufacture and warehouse," Garcia said. He told the commission the building is consistent with the industrial zoning and that the firm has operated in the area for decades. Commissioners asked about hazardous materials and operations; Garcia said the work is sheet metal ductwork and no hazardous storage is proposed.
Commission Chair Jeff Kennedy moved to approve the application; Dr. Benjamin Sherry seconded. The motion carried and the commission authorized the site plan; staff will document approvals and any site conditions in the written decision.
