East Brandywine board approves minutes, payroll and appoints Linda Morrison to budget panel; Noah named recycling coordinator

The East Brandywine Township Board of Supervisors on Sept. 4 approved routine business and made two appointments as it prepares work on the 2026 budget.

Board members voted, by voice, to approve the Aug. 21 meeting minutes and to accept the treasurer’s report, pay bills and approve payroll. The meeting record does not list individual vote tallies; one member stated they were not present for the Aug. 21 meeting and could not vote.

During new business the board considered appointments to advisory roles. Mr. Revan told the board the budget committee — an ad hoc panel not codified in township code — recommended "longtime resident Linda Morrison" for appointment and said she had attended two budget committee meetings. "At this time I'd respectfully ask the board to appoint Linda Morrison to the budget committee for the remainder of this calendar year," Mr. Revan said. A motion and second carried by voice vote; the transcript does not record individual yea or nay votes.

The board also filled the statutory recycling-coordinator role required under Pennsylvania's Act 101. Mr. Revan explained the recycling coordinator must track recycling tonnage and handle required public communication about recycling. He recommended Noah, who was at his first meeting. Noah briefly addressed the board, saying, "So, I got the hip boots and the shovel to help get through all the mess." The motion to appoint Noah to the recycling coordinator post was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records the outcome but not individual vote counts.

These appointments come as the budget committee prepares for work on the 2026 budget. No ordinances, resolutions or subdivision/zoning applications were on the agenda, the chair said.

The board concluded the formal business and announced an executive session would follow to discuss personnel and real estate matters.
