Council approves $125,000 change order for ice-rink systems; staff to seek contractor responsibility

Council members said the town will investigate whether Legacy Place (the pad contractor) or the general contractor Terminal Construction share responsibility and whether third-party compaction testing was completed before turnover. "We are going to continue our research on this and try to get a full understanding as to where the responsibility lies," one council member said, and legal counsel was reported to be placing relevant parties on notice.
Council did not halt the work; members said the work needed to proceed but that the township will pursue reimbursement where appropriate and continue due-diligence steps. The council approved the consent-agenda resolution authorizing the change order as presented.
