West Milton council appoints Jennifer Richardson to council, elects Casey Mets as chair

Jennifer Richardson was sworn in as a member of the West Milton village council during the Feb. 10 meeting, taking the oath to support the U.S. and Ohio Constitutions and the village’s charter and ordinances. Council members nominated Richardson, then conducted a roll-call vote that approved her appointment.
At the same meeting council nominated and voted to appoint Casey Mets as council chair. Mets accepted the nomination and took the oath of office for chairperson. Council members confirmed the chair vote by roll call after Richardson’s appointment, with all members present voting in favor.
The swearing-in and chair selection came early in a meeting that also included routine business such as resolutions, the presentation of employee awards and discussion of community event funding. The council said it would place a Project Revival funding request for the Rock the Hill event on an upcoming workshop agenda for fuller discussion.
The council does not appear to have assigned additional duties to Richardson at the meeting beyond the formal oath and seating; procedural housekeeping followed, including roll call confirmations and setting workshop topics for follow-up.
