Staff said year‑to‑date multifamily activity is elevated compared with recent years and offered to add an annual inventory number (total existing units and total multifamily units) to the department’s year‑end report if the commission would like that detail included.
Commission members asked staff for comparative context and staff noted that while the municipality has had large projects before, the current cluster of walk‑up multifamily approvals represents a concentration of activity not recently seen in the same timeframe.
