Commission staff reported they recently interviewed candidates for a conservation agent position and expect to move toward hiring soon. The commission agreed to sign a letter of support for a phase 2 Coastal Zone Management (CZM) grant application for an intermunicipal shoreline management project that would build an interactive ArcGIS database and cooperative shoreline-management protocols.
A staff member told the commission the Wetlands Protection Fund balance is $52,008.22 and requested memos to cover overtime, office supplies and funding for a part-time administrative position limited to 14 hours per week. The commission approved the requested transfers and clarified the position is a contract role without benefits. "The Wetlands Protection Fund has a total of $52,008.22," the staff member said during the meeting.
The commission also handled routine administrative business, including issuing multiple 3-year extensions for orders of conditions and certificates of compliance for closed permits; staff will mail certificates and prepare orders as directed.
