Planning commission authorizes chair to execute Castlewood stormwater agreements

The City of Reading Planning Commission voted to authorize its chairman to execute stormwater management agreements covering the Castlewood subdivision, listed as SADO number 24-00004.

Michelle of the planning office reported that the developer’s attorney delivered executed stormwater agreements to the planning office and recommended the commission authorize the chairman to sign and complete the recordation process. Commissioners asked for clarification that signatures were complete and that the agreements would be recorded; staff confirmed the chair’s signature was the final step.

After brief questions from commissioners about recording and whether multiple property owners were covered, a motion was made to authorize the chairman to execute the agreements. The motion passed on a voice vote and the chair indicated he would sign the documents that evening.

The authorization follows previous staff reviews and the applicant’s submissions; staff said the agreements will be forwarded to the attorney’s office for recording. The commission did not add additional conditions to the authorization during the meeting.

The meeting packet identified the stormwater agreement by SADO 24-00004 and staff said the agreements cover affected property owners in the subdivision. Commission discussion focused on confirmation of signatures and next steps for recording rather than on the engineering details of the stormwater design.

The commission will receive confirmation of recordation and any next administrative steps once the county recordings are complete.
