Walden board authorizes emergency-preparedness review by unions, pays audited bills and moves to executive session

The Village of Walden Board of Trustees authorized its manager to distribute a draft emergency-preparedness plan to labor unions for review and comment ahead of a planned formal adoption.
Village attorney recommended releasing the draft to union leadership and membership for review prior to Feb. 1 so concerns can be addressed before an intended adoption date of April 1. The board voted to authorize the manager to send the paperwork to the unions.
Trustees also voted to pay the audited bills for the period presented and recorded the action by motion. Later in the meeting trustees moved into executive session to discuss a personnel matter and to receive an update on CSA; the motion was seconded and carried.
Trustees praised the work on the preparedness document. "Nice job on the document," one trustee said, and board members acknowledged collaborative work between staff and union representatives in preparing the draft. The manager confirmed the paperwork will be sent to unions and that the board will receive any feedback for further consideration.
