County re‑entry program presents services and outcomes to Siler City commissioners

Representatives of the county re‑entry program introduced their new re‑entry case manager and presented a one‑year update, including a short video and several personal testimonials.
Presenters described the program's wraparound case management: assessing barriers, arranging transitional housing, connecting clients with treatment and job supports, restoring driver's licenses and providing cell phones and service so clients can be contacted by potential employers. The presenters said roughly two‑thirds of the program’s caseload comes from Siler City and nearby Bear Creek, and they listed service outcomes to date: 19 people placed into transitional housing, 19 receiving treatment, several receiving rental and tuition assistance and more than a dozen connected to employment or training.
The video that accompanied the presentation included first‑person stories about childhood trauma and recovery and a short statement from the Compassion Prison Project asking for donations to sustain programs that bring trauma‑informed care into prisons. Commissioners and attendees praised the program's community impact and thanked staff and law enforcement partners for participating in sequential intercept mapping and other collaborative efforts.
Commissioners did not vote on any action related to the program but commended staff and volunteers and encouraged continued partnership and funding exploration with county and regional partners.
