Recreation report: 143 registrations so far; garden opens April 1, trips and classes planned

The recreation program director told the board the department has recorded 143 program registrations from Jan. 1 through Feb. 24, including 111 residents and 811 accounts on file. The director said staff are seeking sponsors (24 registered so far) and listed scheduled and planned offerings: coffee and conversation with a cop, playground registration, indoor yoga, line-dancing classes, a beginner and an advanced sourdough workshop, a bus trip to Washington, D.C., an egg hunt, movie nights in June, August and October, a bus trip to Cape May in August, a babysitting course and a community garden that opens April 1.
“Currently we have 143 program registrations from January 1st to February 24th,” the recreation program director said, noting ongoing registration and sponsorship efforts. The board acknowledged the variety of programming and discussed outreach and sponsor recruitment to support expanded offerings.
The director also reported that CB baseball provided liability insurance for field use and that the baseball shed and other park infrastructure items will go through the township’s land-development review; Jacob Bowen, the plant director, is the staff contact for those land-development steps.
Board members did not take formal action on programming at the meeting but encouraged continued sponsor recruitment and public communication about available programs.
