He described the proposed shelter as a vented-roof unit roughly 16 by 20 feet; purchase and shipping were listed around $29,073, and Stensrud estimated local assembly and footings at about $15,000, yielding a rough total project estimate in the $40,000–$55,000 range once installation and related work are included.
Stensrud said the project fits within existing contingency and sponsorship funding; council members noted constituent interest in shelters during prior playground purchases. Council moved, seconded and approved the purchase by voice vote.
What happens next: Staff will take color samples, finalize procurement, coordinate footing pour with pool concrete work and schedule installation once the shelter is delivered and weather permits.
