Mindy Holidayiday, Sun River Service District administrator, told the board the transfer covers a more capable ballistic vest system and night‑vision goggles that the department did not budget for in the fiscal year but are required for Officer Tristan Ardis’ participation on the regional CERT team. "He was recently accepted to serve on the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team," Holidayiday said, and the district asked to move contingency funds into its capital account so the items can be ordered.
A motion to approve resolution 2026‑019 — transferring the appropriation within the Sun River Service District fiscal year 2026 budget — was moved, seconded and approved by the commissioners present.
What happens next
Staff said the district will order the equipment and return with any follow‑up reporting as required by district purchasing policy or if further budget action is needed.
