Police report: seasonal uptick in retail theft and drug arrests; October and November statistics

Chief Matt presented the police department’s activity report at the Dec. 9 workshop. He said October recorded 956 calls for service, 502 completed reports, 22 arrests and 41 citations; November recorded 738 calls for service, 445 reports, 12 arrests and 30 citations. The chief said citations have increased, the traffic program is active and that seasonal retail theft, some drug arrests and domestic-related calls typically raise arrest numbers this time of year.
Board members asked follow-up questions about the nature of arrests and traffic enforcement; the chief said the department will continue the traffic program and assigned officers to coordinate with public works on sign installation.
