Township staff to advertise Cherry Meadows sewer-acceptance ordinance; engineer recommends Cronin award and bond reduction

At the Scott Township workshop on Dec. 9, solicitor Dylan said staff will advertise an ordinance to accept a sanitary sewer line in the Cherry Meadows development and that the plan must be submitted to the county for recording before the ordinance is passed at a later meeting.
Engineer Murray recommended awarding the Sewer Shed C-53 source flow reduction project to Cronin Enterprises LLC for the base bid of $679,226.65 and asked the board to place the contract on the next meeting agenda for formal approval. Murray said the work is spot repair and lining with one section of manhole-to-manhole replacement in the Burkewood/Silview area and that the project is one of the township’s required 10% projects under a consent order.
Murray also reported a bond reduction request (No. 6) from Flashoint Partners, reducing a performance bond from $1,466,574.16 to $1,391,917.16. Staff recommended approving the reduction subject to ratification at the board’s Dec. 23 voting meeting and said the contractor submitted the previous request in error and may submit a revised request for January review.
No formal ordinance adoption, contract award or final bond action was taken at the workshop; the board directed staff to add the items to the Dec. 23 agenda for formal action.
