The Board of Supervisors on May 26 approved multiple fee changes affecting the county airport, animal control and public utilities.
Rodney Hathaway presented ordinance O-06-26 proposing several airport fee adjustments (space rental, hangar rentals and tie-downs), noting that even with the increases the county remains the lowest-cost airport in the region. He also told the board the animal impoundment fee would increase from $8 to $10 per day and that the $50 certificate-of-zoning fee would be codified in the code because it had been collected but not previously written into the ordinance.
The board adopted O-06-26 on a recorded poll after questions about airport users and hangar availability. Hathaway said many users come from outside the county but a significant number of county residents use the facility; one board member noted a waiting list of about 35–40 residents for enclosed hangar space.
Separately, Hathaway presented ordinance O-07-26 to amend Appendix B (public utility fees), proposing a 4% increase in user, connection and availability fees to cover debt service tied to recent borrowings; meter fees were described as pass-through costs. The board adopted O-07-26 on a recorded poll.
Taken together, the fee changes adjust user charges across several county services and provide revenue to meet debt-service obligations and operational costs. The ordinances take effect according to the schedule in each adopted resolution and code amendment.
