The construction manager validated EH Construction’s low bid and noted the firm completed the school’s previous auditorium and locker‑room work.
Board members first voted on a motion to approve the base bid with full‑length windows; that motion failed 0–5. The board then approved the motion to accept the deduct alternate and award the contract to EH Construction; that motion passed 5–0. During roll calls, Mr. Basham, Miss McDaniel, Mr. Gro, Miss Franklin and the presiding board member voted in favor of the awarding motion.
The board also authorized the superintendent to execute the AIA contract necessary to move the project forward. The district opened six bids for the project; other bidders named in the presentation included Calhoun Construction, Three Panther Contracting, Parkco Construction, Martin Construction and Cutter Construction.
