Board extends Waste Management contract, discusses senior pricing and truck sizes

Manager Faulk said Waste Management is unable to add an additional monthly bulk-item pickup but agreed not to raise senior pricing; the board approved the extension unanimously.
During public comment a resident asked whether Waste Management could deploy smaller trucks for older neighborhoods with 15-foot streets to avoid damage to yards and narrow roads. Manager Faulk said he would contact Waste Management to explore whether smaller trucks could be assigned and to check any property-damage issues.
A separate discussion tied to equipment financing also touched on trash and senior programs: one commissioner asked whether the bag program or senior fees would change; manager Faulk said senior pricing would not increase. The board moved to table a separate financing vote for a tractor/mower boom until finance-rate details were available.
