Norfolk planning commission approves conditional use permit for oversized truck wash at 1401 South Chestnut Street

The Norfolk Planning Commission on Aug. 5 adopted Resolution 2025 PC-7, granting Triple H LLC a conditional use permit to operate an oversized-vehicle truck wash at 1401 South Chestnut Street.

Under the resolution, the facility is limited to exterior washing only; there must be no interior wash-out of trailers or dumping from campers or RVs. Surfaces from the wash exit to Chestnut Street must be hard-surfaced (concrete or asphalt) to limit trackout, while ingress from Chestnut Street onto the property may be gravel. The permit forbids outside storage, storage of hazardous materials and overnight parking of vehicles or trailers.

The conditional use permit is issued under the Norfolk City Code and is authorized for 10 years as a personal privilege to the applicant; it is not transferable. Failure to maintain the conditions may lead to review, alteration or termination of the permit. The resolution notes that procedures in Norfolk City Code section 27-56 apply and that an appeal to the planning commission’s decision may be filed within 15 days of the decision.
