Wareham Planning Board continues two site‑plan hearings, splits 3–1 over peer‑review timing

Eric Brainsky, speaking on behalf of the Water Whiz developers, told the board the firm had a scheduling conflict with the board's first proposed date: "unfortunately, I do know that 29 just this afternoon got booked for me in another town. So, it's a conflict on my end," he said, prompting board members to select Feb. 23 as an alternate date.
For the 370 County Road matter, an applicant representative identified in the record as Mr. Chrysler said the project team had received peer‑review comments on Jan. 6 and needed time to address engineering work before the public hearing could continue: "we got those on the 6th and uh there's a lot of work to do here. So...we decided that the best thing to do was to ask for a continuance," he said.
Board member Sam Corbett repeatedly expressed frustration with the timing of new materials for continuances and urged consistent enforcement of the board's filing policy. "I'm tired of it," Corbett said when explaining his no vote; the chair recited the board policy that new information for a continuance must be filed with the office by Thursday at noon.
The board's exchanges focused on process rather than substance: members said they and their peer reviewers had spent weekend hours reviewing late materials and emphasized that late peer‑review comments can require significant extra work by staff and board members. Developers and representatives acknowledged the timing problems and apologized for the delay, and the board set the new dates so public hearings can proceed with complete submissions.
Next steps: the Water Whiz site‑plan review is scheduled for a continuation hearing on Feb. 23, 2026; the 370 County Road site‑plan and special‑permit hearing will return to the board on Jan. 26, 2026.
