The administration suggested informal negotiation first and said that, if necessary, a formal resolution could be brought forward; a council member noted that a previous administration had blocked access to the space.
Council agreed to place an item on the official council agenda to pursue a motion to reclaim 161A and asked for follow‑up documentation and possible committee discussion. Several council members said they would prefer an informal resolution but reserved the right to proceed by resolution if an agreement cannot be reached.
